Meet Dr. Schoofs
Dr. Kimberly Schoofs provides an energetic, thorough, and compassionate approach to the care of her patients. She practices a blend of medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology, while also diagnosing disorders of the skin under the microscope as a dual board-certified dermatologist and dermatopathologist. A fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society of Dermatopathology, she has several peer-reviewed published journal articles and has presented at both national and international academic conferences.
Outside of her medical practice, Dr. Schoofs has served as past president and board member of the Missouri Dermatologic Society. She advocated for legislation pertaining to the practice of medicine and dermatology at the State Capitol and organized annual educational meetings for dermatologists in the region.
A Wisconsin native, Dr. Schoofs attended the University of Wisconsin for her undergraduate studies where she participated in academic research and graduated with honors. Following this, she completed medical school at the Medical College of Wisconsin.
She then went on to complete her dermatology and dermatopathology fellowship at the prestigious Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. While there, she served as chief resident and received multiple awards for excellence in patient care, education, and research. After completing her medical training, she briefly practiced in Minneapolis, MN until relocating to her husband’s home of Kansas City in 2010. Here she joined Dr. Mark Cohen at the Kansas City Skin and Cancer Center. She is proud to be part of a comprehensive practice that provides expert, ethical patient care in all aspects of dermatology in the greater metropolitan area.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three daughters and her other interests include traveling, reading, fitness, and golf.
