Grow Your Glow, Grow Your Hair

Renew Skin & Hair Cells With PRP in Kansas City

Throughout our lives, our skin cells can become dull and low in glow. The same can happen with our hair follicles, except, unlike skin, our hair just falls out and thins. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) can help!

But when you mix PRP with other well-paired treatments, you can see your skin glow again and your hair grow back to how you remember it. PRP can also be paired with treatments such as Skinpen Microneedling, Secret RF, and resurfacing lasers, all of which we offer here at Kansas City Skin & Cancer Center.

Whether you are facing hair loss or skin dullness, PRP in Kansas City can help you reach your dermatology and aesthetic care goals. At KCSCC, we’re well-known for our fantastic treatments along with our care for both our patients and community, so you can feel confident when coming to us with your skin concerns.

What Is Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy?

PRP therapy is a non-invasive procedure that uses your body’s natural growth factors to stimulate the healing process and tissue regeneration. Your provider at Kansas City Skin and Cancer Center will draw a small amount of blood from the arm and then place it into a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets from the plasma.

We can pair this concentrated serum of platelets with other treatments to enhance their overall results and accelerate the skin’s ability to heal post-procedure. It’s completely nonsurgical, all-natural, and uses the body’s biological materials to produce results.

Because PRP comes from a patient’s own blood, the risk of allergic reaction or complications is extremely low. Using the body’s natural healing elements, PRP therapy offers a biocompatible solution that aligns with the skin’s regenerative abilities.

PRP in Kansas City offers a wide range of aesthetic applications, from rejuvenating the skin to addressing hair loss, all while utilizing the inherent restorative power of your own body.

Paired Treatments

Many patients who combine treatments notice better, faster results than doing one treatment alone. If you’re interested in learning more about combining or scheduling multiple treatments together, contact us!

PRP Treatment

Your provider will make sure you are comfortable, clean the treatment area, and then inject the PRP. Depending on the extent of your treatment, the procedure time and products used vary. Most patients find the process relatively quick and well-tolerated, with minimal downtime afterward.

Your provider starts by drawing a small amount of blood (usually from the arm). Then, they prepare the PRP serum, placing the blood into a special device that separates the platelets from the plasma within the blood.

The PRP in Kansas City is then ready to be used alongside other treatments, such as microneedling or hair loss therapies. No matter which treatment you use it with, PRP enhances the overall results by stimulating the body’s natural healing process and collagen production.

Next Steps

Once the treatment is completed, we’ll have a discussion to review any additional concerns, questions, and post-care. Then, you can schedule any follow-up appointments you may need!

After receiving your PRP therapy, follow the specific aftercare instructions given to you by your provider to maximize the healing process and your results. These instructions can include avoiding strenuous activities, applying a cool compress to the treatment area to reduce swelling, and staying properly hydrated.

Typically, we recommend a series of treatments using PRP spaced roughly 1 month apart. After achieving the desired results, our patients usually schedule maintenance treatments every 6 to 12 months to continue enjoying their results for the long term.

You can consult with your provider to determine the best treatment schedule for you, your concerns, and your desired outcomes.

Results

You may notice some results right away, like shinier, glowing skin, but your PRP results will progress over the next several days as your skin or scalp heals. Within a few days, your treated area will look younger, brighter, and refreshed.

Because PRP works by stimulating your body’s natural healing process, improvements often continue to build over time with multiple treatments. Many patients see enhanced texture, reduced fine lines, and an overall healthier appearance within a few weeks.

Results can vary depending on your individual goals, skin type, and the area treated, but regular sessions can help maintain and maximize the benefits.
